Paralleling Systems

Robust Paralleling Equipment Controls for Fail-Safe Performance

PowerCommand® digital paralleling systems from Cummins Power Generation provide more functionality and robust controls than any other paralleling system available today. From digital control of generator startup, synchronization and no-break power transitions to sophisticated diagnostics, remote monitoring and networkability, PowerCommand paralleling systems coordinate every aspect of the power system. In 10 seconds or less, PowerCommand digital paralleling systems can synchronize all diesel generator sets with each other and the utility. Based on a true distributed logic concept, the system features paralleling controls mounted on the generator sets, low or medium voltage power sections and a digital master control for performing supervisory functions.

Unmatched Design and Performance Control

All controls are designed and manufactured on standardized control blocks for increased stability. As a result, PowerCommand paralleling systems set the industry benchmark for performance, reliability and functionality. And, because they use fewer components, the paralleling systems occupy 40 percent less space than traditional paralleling systems.

PowerCommand systems are installed in thousands of applications worldwide, including electric generation and distribution systems, industrial plants, data centers, commercial buildings, hospitals, wastewater treatment plants, transportation systems and pipeline stations. The advanced paralleling systems are one reason why power systems from Cummins Power Generation have long been trusted by the world’s most important companies and institutions.

Remote Monitoring:

Cummins Power Generation Remote Monitoring System

With PowerCommand® remote monitoring systems, visibility to power system performance is easily expanded to anyone – whether in the facility or off-site – through a Web-browser via the intranet or Internet.

PowerCommand remote monitoring equipment provides a convenient means of remotely monitoring and controlling generator sets, transfer switches, sensors and output controls. Users can access the remote monitoring equipment from any PC or Mac computer; no additional software is required. Multiple users can monitor the power system equipment simultaneously.

Remote monitoring system users can monitor generator set data, such as annunciator, alternator and engine data, as well as transfer switch data, such as source, load and switch connection status. Expandable I/O modules can provide additional monitoring and controlling capabilities.

Integrated Power Systems:

Fail-Safe Performance for Mission-Critical Applications

Throughout the world, countless specifiers and owners have realized the benefits of choosing a complete power system from Cummins Power Generation. Whether used for mission-critical applications or emergency backup power – at data centers, hospitals, water treatment plants, mining sites, public facilities, commercial buildings, to name just a few examples – Cummins power systems consistently deliver the most fail-safe performance in the industry. Here’s why Cummins is most trusted:

  • First of all, a Cummins power system is much more than a collection of pieces of equipment. It encompasses decades of application expertise, comprehensive system engineering, exhaustive testing and validation, and a global network capable of providing on-site service and support.
  • Second, Cummins manufactures and assembles all of the key components of our power systems. Because of this, we’re able to exert the highest measure of design and performance control – resulting in a much more reliable, integrated system than any other provider in the industry. This single-source of accountability simplifies complicated installations, saving specifiers valuable time, while reducing incompatibility problems and integration headaches.
